I'm Nick Cepeda, a soon-to-be father, who in a lot of ways still feels like a child himself. To this day I still spend a lot of time playing video-games, reading comics, and obsessing over fantasy and lore. Let's be completely honest: this "nerd-culture" of which I still delve into constantly, is much more popular in my generation than its ever been.
Anyways, coming back to this whole "being a dad" thing. I've always wanted kids and now that it's almost here I find myself extremely scared and excited all the same time. It's like that feeling of getting on a new roller coaster that looks so intimidating, but after the ride's over you're excited to take the plunge again. (Speaking of roller coasters, check out 'Full Throttle' at Six Flags Magic Mountain for one of my favorites.)
It's scary to think that I have to be in charge of the life of another human being, and yet I'm so thrilled that I get to teach him all these awesome things in life.
"How does a roller coaster work?"
"Why is the sky blue?"
"Who's Batman?"
Like I said... so many things to teach him.
Laying out my goals for the blog, I want to talk about my progression into fatherhood as the guy who would get angry when the EA servers would go offline at 2AM while trying to play "Skate" with my friends over Xbox Live. The guy who can't wait to finally have a third player for "Munchkin". The guy who was thrilled the day we bought an ErgoBaby 360 carrier for my son. The guy who's looking forward to buying his son his first Lego set.
Expect blogs about games, toys, opinions, reviews, and babies.
